Our Story and Vision
Our Journey
Founded in N'Djamena in 2013, OHDC emerged from a profound commitment to serve Chad's most vulnerable populations. What began as a small group of passionate individuals has grown into a trusted humanitarian organisation reaching thousands of families across the nation.
Through challenging times and inspiring triumphs, we've remained steadfast in our belief that every person deserves access to basic necessities, education, healthcare, and opportunities for growth. Our roots in local communities give us unique insight into the challenges faced by Chadian families.

Humanitarian Assistance & Emergency Response
When crisis strikes, OHDC mobilizes rapidly to provide life-saving assistance. Our emergency teams deliver essential supplies—clean water, food, shelter, and medical support—to families displaced by conflict or natural disasters.
Strategic partnerships and local teams ensure rapid, scalable aid delivery to the most vulnerable populations during large-scale crises.
Beyond immediate relief, we strengthen community resilience through:

Our food security initiatives address both immediate hunger and long-term agricultural sustainability. We provide drought-resistant seeds, training in modern farming techniques, support for irrigation systems, and access to markets. We've helped establish community grain banks, women's cooperatives for food processing, and nutrition education programmes that have significantly reduced malnutrition rates in target areas.
Education & Youth Empowerment
Building Brighter Futures
Education is the foundation for breaking cycles of poverty and creating lasting change. OHDC operates educational programmes that provide access to quality learning opportunities for children and young people who would otherwise be excluded from formal education systems.
We've constructed and rehabilitated school facilities in remote areas, trained teachers in modern pedagogical approaches, provided learning materials, and established scholarship programmes for vulnerable students, particularly girls.

Health & Wellbeing Services
Access to quality healthcare remains a critical challenge across Chad. OHDC operates mobile health clinics that reach remote communities, providing primary healthcare services, maternal and child health support, vaccinations, and health education. We've established partnerships with local health centres to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and improve service delivery.

Prenatal care, safe deliveries, postnatal support, child vaccinations, and nutrition monitoring for mothers and children
Water & Sanitation
Clean water access through well construction, sanitation facilities, and hygiene education programmes

Healthcare Impact
Our integrated health programs significantly improve community well-being and health outcomes. Annually, our mobile clinics serve over 25,000 patients in remote areas, providing essential services. These include comprehensive maternal health care (prenatal check-ups, safe delivery support, and postnatal care), vital child vaccinations, and effective treatment for common illnesses like malaria, respiratory infections, and diarrheal diseases.
We also empower dedicated community health workers, who bridge the gap between healthcare systems and remote villages. These local individuals provide basic care, deliver health education on hygiene and nutrition, and facilitate referrals for specialized treatment, fostering trust and sustainable health improvements at the grassroots level.

Rapid deployment to southern regions affected by severe flooding, providing emergency shelter, clean water, and medical assistance to over 3,000 displaced families

Celebrated the inauguration of three new primary schools in remote villages, bringing education access to 450 children who previously had no nearby facilities
